Duties Include:Supervising and supporting Respiratory Therapists and respiratory support staff Creating and managing staff schedules to ensure appropriate departmental coverageConducting staff evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance write-ups as neededOverseeing respiratory documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completionEnsuring adherence to facility policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirementsInterviewing and examining Residents regarding respiratory ailmentsDiagnosing respiratory conditions and assessing Resident lung capacitiesReviewing test results and identifying respiratory concerns and treatment needsAdministering and overseeing respiratory treatments and proceduresRemoving mucus and other fluids from Residents’ lungs and clearing airway obstructions when necessaryEducating Residents and families on lung health, respiratory conditions, and disease preventionInstructing Residents and staff on proper respiratory equipment usage and respiratory care proceduresProviding emergency respiratory care and resuscitation in cases of ceased breathingCollaborating with Physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and oversee Resident treatment plansMonitoring department operations and ensuring high-quality resident care and staff performanceAssisting with staff training, onboarding, and ongoing education initiativesDemonstrating respect for Residents’ dignity, beliefs, and property. Requirements Include:Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy programCurrent New York State Respiratory Therapist license requiredPrior supervisory or leadership experience in respiratory care preferredExperience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferredStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsExcellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of respiratory regulations, documentation standards, and infection control proceduresAbility to effectively manage staff scheduling and departmental workflowDetail-oriented with strong time-management skillsCurrent and valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required About us:Richmond Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare is a 372-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility located in the borough of Staten Island.
